SLMAN is a compact, DIN-rail mountable control system built for off-grid and energy-sensitive monitoring stations. It manages high-power communication systems — such as satellite links (e.g. Starlink or other data transmission technologies) — that shouldn’t stay permanently online. With automated cycles, intelligent connectivity checks, and dynamic alarm handling, SLMAN keeps your system efficient and responsive.
An integrated input allows connected monitoring systems to force startup outside of scheduled cycles in case of alarms — e.g. critical water levels, system failures, or environmental warnings.
Typical Use Cases:
- Water level monitoring
- Weather and climate stations
- Air, water, or soil quality measureing stations
- Remote alarm systems (e.g. solar park intrusion protection)
- Infrastructure monitoring (bridges, pipelines, floodgates)
- Avalanche and landslide alert systems
- Wildlife tracking and forestry monitoring
- Remote access/gate systems
- Seismic and geological logging
- Mobile stations (vehicles, trailers, vessels)
Key Features:
- Timed Connectivity: Automate connection cycles with adjustable uptime and interval durations.
- Local Maintenance Mode: Manually activate the system via hardware button.
- Remote Maintenance Mode: Keep the connection active after the next cycle until deactivated remotely. Initial control via email – web interface in development.
Smart Control & Telemetry:
- Alarm Input Trigger: External alarms or warnings can initiate immediate system startup.
- Connectivity Check & Auto-Recovery: SLMAN verifies successful connection during each cycle. If a connection fails, it runs a multi-step recovery process to fix common issues — autonomously.
- Telemetry Integration: Telemetry data from connected satellite systems (such as Starlink) can be read and made available as needed — including terminal status, signal levels, and uptime.
- Optional Location Tracking: If enabled locally, SLMAN can extract and forward the terminal’s current location — ideal for mobile or semi-mobile installations.
Hardware & Integration:
- DIN-Rail Enclosure: Central logic, network, and VPN control in one unit.
- Display: Built-in screen for real-time system status.
- 12–24V Power Input: Fully compatible with power adapters supporting REM (remote input) control.
System Components:
- SLMAN Hardware – Installed at the monitoring site
- Cloud Service – Manages VPN connectivity and configuration updates
SLMAN – intelligent, autonomous control for modern off-grid measurement and communication systems.
